Tea is a fragrant beverage made from the dried or fresh leaves of the evergreen shrub Camellia sinensis, which is indigenous to China, India, and other East Asian nations. The leaves of the Camellia taliensis are also infrequently used to make tea. It is the most extensively drank beverage in the world after water.
All varieties of tea (black, white, green) are a rich source of protective plant compounds, called polyphenols. Regularly consuming these polyphenols may help protect the cells of the body from damage and as a result reduce the risk of chronic diseases like heart disease, diabetes and cancer.
Numerous studies have shown that a variety of teas may boost your immune system, fight off inflammation, and even ward off cancer and heart disease. While some brews provide more health advantages than others, there's plenty of evidence that regularly drinking tea can have a lasting impact on your wellness.
